Nightline is always here to listen no matter how big or small. You can reach us through several methods, have a look below to see how you can contact us
If you would like to talk to one of our volunteers over the phone, our phone lines are open from 8pm – 8am every day apart from Wednesday and Saturday during term time. Nightline is a confidential service, but some of our calls may be listened to (in real-time) by other Nightline volunteers solely for training and quality purposes. You can reach us through the number below (we are also on the back of your UCard if you forget!)
Our Instant Messenger service runs from 8pm – midnight every day during term time. There is no rush to start talking, so take all the time you need. To ensure support is of the highest standard, we are limited with how many people we can talk to at once. If you do not get through to us immediately please wait in the automated queue until a volunteer is available, or try again later. When there is a volunteer available click the button below.

Our Skype service is very much similar to our Phone service. If you’re abroad or out of credits this can be an alternative means to contact us. Both video and audio calls to sheffieldnlskype are automatically forwarded to our phones, so they will be treated like any other call. Our volunteers won’t see your skype username and will not know whether you called from a phone or from Skype.
If you do not feel comfortable calling us and our IMs are closed, you can contact us through email. Our email service is open 24/7, 365 days a year and is our only service that operates outside of term time. Our anonymiser ensures that volunteers cannot see your email address. More than one Nightline volunteer may be involved in your conversation. We aim to reply within 48 hours.
